Villa Wewersbusch
Your home for two weeks
Living, learning and leisure under one roof — scroll through the campus.
Everything under one roof
You'll stay right at the boarding school: living, lessons and free time all happen in one place. There's a canteen, cosy common rooms and beautiful grounds for up to 70 participants. The surroundings are quiet and green — great for focus, relaxation and bonding as a group.
Modern, with private bathroom
You'll stay in a single or double room with its own bathroom, modern and set up with teenagers in mind. Room cleaning is included, and we provide bed linen and towels — which saves space in your suitcase.
Separate corridors, supervisors next door
Girls and boys sleep on separate corridors, and supervisors live right next door, there around the clock. For double rooms we consider gender, age and different native languages — so you get plenty of German practice outside lessons too.
Lessons just steps away
Lessons take place right on campus — get up, have breakfast, start learning. In small groups of 12 to 15 participants, matched to your language level.
Full board in the canteen
Three meals a day, plus snacks such as fresh fruit and a packed lunch for excursions. Simply tell us about any allergies or intolerances when you register.
Sports and activities on site
In the afternoons and evenings the supervisor team organises activities on campus: sports games, creative workshops, games and film nights — depending on the weather and what's on.
Velbert, in the heart of NRW
The villa is in Velbert-Langenberg, between Düsseldorf, Essen and Wuppertal. We bring you from Düsseldorf Airport — your arrival point — by coach; the pick-up is included.

Course
How lessons work
The Sommerakademie runs for two weeks, with 20 lessons of 45 minutes each per week. You'll learn in small groups of 12 to 15 participants at your current language level — determined in a placement test before the course begins.
Qualified teachers keep you motivated and make lessons engaging and age-appropriate. You'll practise all language skills: listening, reading, speaking, writing and grammar. Teaching follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Our teachers are native speakers with solid pedagogical training. So you don't just learn German — you learn it in an age-appropriate, engaging and educationally excellent setting.

Course materials already included. They are designed specifically for the Sommerakademie, match the course format and give you the best possible support on your language trip.

Free time & excursions
Games, sports and four excursions
After lessons, a varied leisure programme awaits you in the afternoons and evenings: games and film nights, sports, creative workshops and sightseeing — organised by the supervisor team, depending on the weather and what's on.
Excursions are a fixed part of the programme: the price includes one full-day excursion on Saturday and three half-day excursions on weekdays — transport and entry included. On top of that come two off-campus activities in Velbert, weather permitting. You'll put your German to use right away and get to know the culture, architecture and the region.
