Do you want to learn German because you are planning to study, work or live in Germany? Maybe you are interested in learning more about the German language, the country, the culture and the mentality? Then you will be fine in our language school.
IBZ Dortmund is one of the most renowned language schools for German in Dortmund. The school offers classroom courses as well as online courses for German at levels A1, A2, B1. B2, C1, which are based on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference), the international standard for describing language ability.
Persons who plan to enrol at a German university or start a vocational training have to take an exam for an official language certificate, such as telc, DSH or TestDaF. These language certificates are a prerequisite for studying at a German university or for starting a training.
If you plan to prepare for these exams, we recommend to register for the appropriate language course at our school. You can choose any level from A1 to C1. IBZ Dortmund is a licensed telc-test centre and regularly offers such tests. As DSH and TestDaF exams are carried out externally, we will help you to find a place and to register for the exam.
The courses at the IBZ Dortmund are very intensive and of high quality and are tailored to the language exams mentioned. Each course comprises about 200 lessons of 45 minutes with 4 or 5 lessons per day from Monday to Friday. The overall duration of each language course is about 8 to 9 weeks.
Each language course ends with an exam consisting of reading comprehension, listening comprehension, text production and grammar. Successful completion of the exam on one level entitles you to participate in the course of the next higher level.
In order to be able to enrol for a language course at a certain level, you need to certify having successfully passed the previous level or you can take a language level test. Incidentally, it is also possible to take just one module of approx. 100 lessons instead of a 200 lessons course.
Our qualified and dedicated teachers have many years of teaching experience, and they work with up-to-date materials and methods. Thus they ensure effective and comprehensive learning. We also support and advise our students in everyday organization (authorities, applications, insurance, public transport, etc.) and individual educational planning (preparatory college, university, FH, academy)
