telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule
telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule tests university-related German language skills at a very advanced level. Foreign students must prove that they have sufficient language skills to study at German universities. The telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule exam is recognized by resolutions of the Conference of University Rectors and Ministers of Education. This makes it one of 4 German exams (in addition to TestDaF, DSH and Goethe-Certificate C2) that are sufficient for admission to study at German universities and technical colleges. IBZ Dortmund offers telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule as a licensed telc examination center at regular intervals. You can register online on the IBZ Dortmund homepage or in person during the specified registration period. The examination fee without express evaluation is €180. The evaluation of the exam takes about 4 weeks and is carried out centrally by the telc institute. We will inform you as soon as we have the results and can collect them.

How is the exam structured?

The exam consists of a written and an oral part. The written exam lasts 3 hours and 40 minutes (including a 20-minute break). The oral exam lasts about 16-24 minutes (after a 20-minute preparation phase). It can take place on the day of the written exam or on another day. The sample test that telc offers for download gives a more precise impression. The exam is passed if at least 60% of the possible maximum number of points has been achieved in both the written and the oral part of the exam.

 

Who gets a certificate?

In order to receive a certificate for the telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule exam, the participant must achieve at least 128 points. At the same time, it should be noted that 60 percent of the maximum possible number of points can be achieved in both the oral exam and the written exam. This corresponds to 29 points in the oral exam and 99 points in the written exam.

Failed the exam – what now?

In telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule, the written part (reading, language modules, listening, writing) and the oral part (oral exam) are evaluated separately. The exam can be repeated as a whole as often as you like. If only the oral exam or only the written exam (subtests 1-4) is not passed, the respective part of the exam can be repeated up to the end of the calendar year following the exam.

    • With a signed power of attorney and a copy of your identity card, you can have the certificate picked up by a person you trust. The person must also have ID with them.
